Follow-up media coverage for a wish grant is obtainable only if you are able to service a photo of the child’s wish grant. The child must have a signed publicity release form on file with the originating hometown Make-A-Wish® chapter in order to do this. The photo must also be approved by the Make-A-Wish chapter. Send one or more photos to local newspapers as quickly as possible following the event. Include the original press release and a short caption for the photo (see example below). Emphasize any information of local interest. For reasons of privacy, do not reveal the surnames of wish children and their families or the child’s specific illness.
